VIDEO: Poverty is not a crime but a virtue – Senate President Godswill Akpabio
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has said poverty is not a crime, rather a virtue of God.
Akpabio made the statement during a live interview with Nigeria Television authority, NTA, last night when he was asked to made a remark on his trip to Rome, Italy to represent Nigeria at the burial of Pope Francis.
Speaking to NTA, Akpabio while admonishing the life Pope Francis lived, said Nigerians should emulate the late Pope, adding that they should stop seeing poverty as a crime.
“Poverty is not a crime, rather can be a virtue of God,” Akpabio said, adding that Pope Francis lived a simple life and that should be a good example for the people.
He went further to say the message is simple, live a good life and Nigerians should love themselves.
