Kim is fuming after the humiliating disaster and is accusing military officials and scientists of a “criminal act.”

New satellite images show the ship on its side in the water. It has since been covered with blue covers to hide the full damage.

According to CBS News, the brand new 5,000-ton-class destroyer “became unbalanced and was punctured in its bottom sections after a transport cradle on the stern section slid off first and became stuck.”

In late April, Kim attended a ceremony for the country’s first navy destroyer (video below) in Nampo.

This month, Kim attended another ceremony where the second navy destroyer was launched into the water in Chongjin.

For obvious reasons, there is no footage of this event.

South Korean officials believe the destroyer was built with help from the Russians.

“[Kim] made a stern assessment that this was a serious accident that could not have happened, could not be tolerated, and was a criminal act caused by pure carelessness, irresponsibility and unscientific empiricism,” reported KCNA.

It appears that those “responsible” may be handed the death penalty, considering the dictator said they’d be “dealt with.”
