Civil Liberties Organization Anambra State Branch has extols and commends impeccable integrity, patriotism, contentment and unprecedented fear of God and love of humanity displayed by poor Tricycle Keke operator, but rich in spirit Mr. Emmanuel Ejezie from Akokwa in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State for returning N2.04 million naira inside a bag forgot by a woman.
Mr. Ejezie picked up Mrs. Chika Aloysius-Iwu, a trader at Ariaria International Market, and unknowingly carried away her bag containing the large sum after she alighted around the Free Zone axis of the market. Upon discovering the bag, he made efforts to track down and return the money to the rightful owner.
It is very unusual character and integrity inspite of his pathetic and pitiable condition and economic situation in the country, he painstakingly searched for the owner and returned the money to her.
Pertinently, Mr. Emmanuel Ejezie deserved to be celebrated, appreciated and rewarded. Honesty is very expensive gift, don’t expect it from cheap and greedy people.
His action has shown that there are still hope in this country and Nigerians should emulates his examplary and outstanding life style.
This is contained in a press statement issued to newsmen endorsed by Evangelist Comrades Vincent Ezekwueme and Chidi Mbah Chairman and Secretary respectful themed “honesty pays, dishonesty destroys” calls on both Imo and Abia State governments to rewards and reciprocates Mr. Ejezie handsomely to motivates and encourage others to always be honest, transparent, contentment and upright.
CLO equally appeal to Akokwa Community and Igwe in Council to bestow Chieftaincy Title to their distinguished son for not only bringing honour, glory and respect to their community but to entire Igbo race and it has corrected wrong impression that Igbos loves money, it shows that Igbos cherished and loves hard-work, justice, integrity, truthfulness and morality.
We appeal to Hon. Member House of Representative representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency Hon. Chief Ugochinyere Imo to kindly in his usual magnanimity to award scholarship to the children of Mr. Integrity, Emmanuel Ejezie for doing his constituency proud and to encourage his unprecedented impeccable character.
