Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who now serves as an advisor in the Trump administration, is expected to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week during Modi’s scheduled visit to the United States, CNBC reported.

Modi will be in the US from February 12 to 14, following an official invitation from President Donald Trump. Musk is likely to join a select group of top executives meeting the Indian leader on February 13.
While there has been no official confirmation, the anticipated meeting has sparked interest, especially given Musk’s long-standing ambition to bring Tesla to the Indian market.
Tesla’s India Entry: Will 2025 Be the Year?
Musk was previously expected to visit India in April last year, but the trip was postponed due to pressing Tesla commitments. His decision came at a time when the electric vehicle giant faced declining sales in China and mass layoffs globally.
With India’s rapid push for EV adoption, Tesla’s expansion could significantly impact the market. However, regulatory hurdles and taxation policies remain key concerns for the company.
Starlink & ISRO: Strengthening Space Ties
Apart from Tesla, Musk is expected to advocate for Starlink’s early approval in India. His satellite internet service has faced bureaucratic roadblocks, but a Modi-Musk meeting could accelerate the process.
Additionally, strengthening ties with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is likely to be another key agenda item. Musk’s SpaceX has been a dominant player in commercial space missions, and collaboration with India’s booming space sector could unlock new opportunities.
Musk’s New Role in the Trump Administration
Musk’s advisory position in the Trump administration adds another layer of significance to his meeting with Modi.
As the head of the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk’s influence in shaping policy and technological advancements could play a role in US-India collaborations.
