JUST IN: Police Re-arrests Popular Singer Speed Darlington
The Nigerian police force has rearrested popular Nigerian musician Darlington Okoye, a.k.a Speed Darlington (Akpi), in Owerri, Imo State.
This was confirmed by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, in a post on his X account on Wednesday morning.
He wrote, “Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a. AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”
He added that his arrest occurred during his return to Nigeria for a show.
The reasons for Darlington’s arrest remained unclear at the time of filing this report.
Recall that Speed Darlington was arrested on October 4 by the Nigerian police for allegedly cyberstalking fellow musician Burna Boy.
He was, however, released on bail on October 9 after spending five days in detention.
