Congo In Crisis: Christians Massacred, Women Raped, Children Enslaved

The Democratic Republic of Congo is one of the world’s most dangerous places, especially for women and Christians.

Last month, ISIS-linked ADF terrorists beheaded 70 Christians in a church as they push to control eastern Congo.

Sexual violence is rampant, with 895 rapes reported in two weeks of February. In October, M23 rebels overran Goma, leading to the mass rape of 150 female prisoners—many were then burned alive.

Armed groups now raid hospitals, kidnap patients, and force hundreds of thousands to flee.

M23 rebels control most of Goma, displacing civilians as they battle government forces.

Meanwhile, a mystery disease in northwestern Congo has killed 60 people within a day. Tests for Ebola and Marburg were negative, leaving doctors without answers.

At the same time, children as young as four mine cobalt, a key mineral for batteries. Despite global outcry, China controls 80% of these mines, profiting from forced labor.

Congo’s crisis is more than minerals.

Terrorism, ethnic conflict, and corruption have made it a warzone.

As armed groups and foreign powers exploit the chaos, some argue the U.S. and world leaders must act before it worsens.
