Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has described the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio as a corrupt politician.

Abubakar said during the time Akpabio was the governor of Akwa Ibom State, he was not only corrupt but he is in the habit of abusing women.
The PDP Presidential Candidate made the controversial statement during a chat with ‘Untold Stories’, the politician said Akpabio is notoriously known as corrupt and he was not surprised when the National Assembly headed by Akpabio approved the emergency rule in Rivers State, declared by President Tinubu.
“Akpabio is not only corrupt, he is in the habit of abusing women”, Atiku said when responding to questions if Akpabio was corrupt as a governor.
On the issue of coalition to unseat President Tinubu in 2027, Atiku said he is ready to support anyone that emerges victorious from the coalition.
“We have similar merger in 2014, three to four of us contested for president and one emerged victorious and we supported him”, Atiku said when asked if he is going to contest for President in 2027.
Speaking on the emergency rule in Rivers State and Senate backing, Atiku said he was not surprised by the Senate action.
“I’m not surprised at all, because I know the Senate leadership is corrupt and being headed by Akpabio, I did not expect anything less than that”, Atiku said.
