Eid-el-Fitr: Senator Kalu Celebrates With Muslims, Condemns Mob Killing Of Hunters In Edo

Former Abia State Governor and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the successful completion of Ramadan and the joyous celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

In a statement on Sunday, Kalu acknowledged the importance of Ramadan, emphasising that its spiritual activities are deeply rewarding for those who sincerely follow the teachings of the Holy Books. He urged Muslims to continue embracing the virtues of peace, love, and compassion beyond the holy month.

“The Holy Month of Ramadan teaches us compassion, tolerance, patience and devotion to God. As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I encourage all Muslims to uphold these values and continue fostering peace and unity in our communities,” Kalu stated.

However, the lawmaker also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic killing of 16 travelers in Uromi, Edo State. He condemned the act, calling for swift justice and enhanced security measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.

“The gruesome killing of innocent travelers in Edo State is heartbreaking and unacceptable. I urge security agencies to intensify efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the safety of all Nigerians,” he added.

Senator Kalu reiterated his commitment to promoting peace and unity in Nigeria, urging citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies for a safer nation.
