President Ibrahim Traore allegedly cancels Burnaboy’s concert in Burkina Faso

The President of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore had reportedly cancelled Burnaboy’s concert in the country.

According to unverified reports from an Instagram account, Trulilgram, President Traore allegedly told Burnaboy to take his free show somewhere else.

Although, the reports is still unverified as the artist has denied the cancellation on Instagram, and no official government statement confirms it.

Only Trulilgram, an Instagram blog had reported the event. Fact-checks by Dubawa and The Cable found no evidence of cancellation.

However, the concert’s status remains unclear, as it hasn’t been confirmed as scheduled either.

Ibrahim Traore took over as the interim President of Burkina Faso since September 2022, after ousting interim president Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba in a coup d’état.

The 34 year old Traore is currently the second-youngest head of state in the world.
