Otti’s Aide Speaks On Rumors of Cows, Vultures, Tortoises Buried in New Abia Government House
Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, Chief Press Secretary to Abia State Governor Alex Otti, has revealed that rumors circulated about live cows, vultures, and tortoises allegedly buried inside the new Government House before Otti’s assumption of office.

Speaking in Umuahia on Friday, May 16, 2025, Ukoha also mentioned claims of incantations intended to harm the governor.
Dismissing the stories as “mere rumors,” Ukoha emphasized that the Otti administration remains focused on delivering good governance, not on where the governor operates from. However, he expressed suspicion about persistent pressure from opposition figures urging Otti to relocate to the new Government House.
“I hope it is not what I am thinking. Why is this coming from the same people? Move to the Government House, move to the Government House,” he said, hinting at possible ulterior motives.
Ukoha clarified that the administration does not lend credence to the rumors but noted the curious timing of the opposition’s demands.
He also highlighted ongoing reconstruction at the old Government House, including upgrades to the Secretary to the State Government’s office and the Government House clinic, as part of Otti’s infrastructure agenda.
The CPS praised Otti’s achievements, particularly the rehabilitation of the long-neglected Port Harcourt Road in Aba and the repair of several other dilapidated roads in the city.
He reiterated that Abians are more concerned with the governor’s transformative projects than speculative controversies.
